2  Make sure that you have the notes for every subject.

Keep your guides and all with you safely if you have one. If your friends have any good guides, do not forget to take photocopies of good notes. This will help you during your study time.

3  Make a good timetable.

4  Do not postpone your studies.

5  Collect previous years question papers and model question papers.

Exercising in previous years and model question papers will definitely help you. You can collect question papers from your teacher and also from your seniors. You can also get a variety of question papers from this site itself. Practicing on question papers is the most effective method to familiarize yourself with the exam.

6  Use a well oxygenated and well-lit room to study.

Tips for Students Preparing for SSLC Exams in India

The first time anybody faces a real public exam challenge during their school life. Students face the challenge in their 10th standard as they have to face a public exam and come out with an impressive score to go for any higher course. In our country passing SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) exam has become a significant milestone to apply for any higher studies and also few Government Jobs/Jobs abroad.

It is a very good time for the 10th standard students as the exams began since they will have stress and pressure from all the sides. They will be pressurised by all the elders to take it seriously and strictly study well, and they will mention this exam as one of the turning points of their life. It is true that it becomes important as their SSLC exam score will be the one which will help them decide which school/institution they are eligible to continue their education, which streams to choose for higher studies, what kind of jobs they are eligible to apply for etc.,

Passing SSLC exam has become an essential step towards the achievement of their ambition. Another important thing related to the SSLC certificate is that it is considered as one the primary documents of proof for Date of Birth even for issuing of passports/other civilised assets for oneself. It is this examination which puts a halt to your primary schooling education and hence is vital.
Every state has their regional board exam known by different terms or names like Kerala’s SCERT which functions as an R&D department of education conducts SSLC; Tamil Nadu has TNBSE which is its regional board of education conducting SSLC; Karnataka has KSEEB board of education which conducts SSLC. How-ever SSLC exams have their highest popularity and importance in the states of Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

It is now very clear why SSLC is important, and it is necessary to appear well for the exam with apt. Preparation and face it without fear. The students are expected to overcome the pressure and stress and meet the exam confidently.

A Month Before the Examination                                         

        Accept the challenge: The first thing that the student needs to have is the mentality to start studying seriously. Set your mind to overcome all the pressure to achieve the best.
        Collect notes and other study materials: Make sure that you are going to follow the right stuff before you sit down to study. And also ensure you have collected everything beforehand.
        Verify the syllabus with faculty: Do not stick on to assumptions about the exam syllabus; confirm it with the concerned teachers of each subject.
        Identify whether you are an owl/Lark: You can follow your comfortable time for studying. Determine whether you are more energetic staying awake during night/day time and prepare your time table accordingly.
        Schedule a proper Sleep-Wake cycle: Avoid your unhealthy habits of irregular sleep cycles and schedule enough time for good sleep but not for oversleeping.
        Keep a good diet: Ensure that you avoid junk foods that will kerb your ability to sit and concentrate for long hours of study.
        Need not kerb your entertainments entirely: There has always been a wrong concept that students preparing for exams should not entertain themselves with movies/sports. One need not actually avoid all the entertainments, but for sure they have to put a limit to all such fun for a while so as to save up your energy for long hours of study.

A week before examination

        Cross-check with friends: Find time to cross- check syllabus, study materials and all other things that you have been following so far.
        Prepare a new timetable: You can make slightly make changes to your study schedule to concentrate and revise more difficult topics/subjects.
        Clarify doubts: You have to clarify all your doubts regarding the topics with your respective subject teachers and ensure that you have been following the right concepts and methodologies.
        Do not skip any topic: Do not avoid studying any topic only because it is tough. You can concern with your teachers to get an idea about the kind of questions that might come from that particular portion.
        Collect previous years question papers: You can boost your calmness and confidence by solving previous years question papers gathered from your seniors/teachers/. For this, you can visit your school library.
        Collect hall-ticket and other necessary items: Rather than running at the last minute to gather hall-ticket and other essential materials for the examination beforehand and keep them safe.
        Do prepare keynotes for last minute references: Make keynotes with abbreviations and techniques to remember them with ease with proper tabulations and key-points.
        Stay calm and practice little meditation: You can keep yourself fresh by practising little breathing exercises and relax.
        Ensure you have studied well: Do not waste any time feeling over confident about your preparations. Ensure you have understood everything well and do not practice mugging up things thinking you will be able to score more.
        Read and Revise: You can ensure that none of the topics that you have to look new/unfamiliar to you on the day before the exam.

The day before examination

        Keep yourself energised: Do not go for rough games/ activities that will make you weak.
        Collect all materials necessary for the exam: The hall-ticket, minimum 2 new pens, eraser, pencils, sharpeners, ruler, instrument box or other things that you will require for the examination the night before itself.
        Only revise: Do not try learning or mug up new things out of tension. Trust yourself and believe in your preparations.
        Do not listen to so many advices: Keep yourself calm and away from those opinions or people/things which may kerb your coolness before the exam.
        Go through keynotes: Try to recollect whatever you have studied and keep yourself engaged with things that will not tire you.
        Do not skip dinner: Do not skip dinner the day before your examination.
        Get proper sleep: Get enough hours of sleep so that you can wake up fresh.

On the day of examination

        Recheck your materials: Recheck and ensure that you have everything ready to enter the examination hall.
        Do not skip food
        Reach early to the room: Do not run late into the hall.

During the examination

        Read the question paper thoroughly: Go through the question paper entirely and start attempting from the questions that you know really well.
        Do not waste time: Do not get stuck up with any issue; keep moving to finish it.

        Recheck your answer sheet: Do not leave any question, attempt all of them even if you do not know the right answer. Ensure that you will not lose marks for anything which you know. Also, keep proper numbering of the answers on the questions.
